PRIVACY
Privacy & data handling
Community reporting is designed to surface safety information without publicly displaying the submitted identity of the accused person.
What is public
Community reports may show structured information such as island, settlement or city, firsthand or secondhand status, relationship category, alleged conduct category, approximate time period, victim age group, pattern, date submitted, a pseudonymous match code, and the number of reports linked to the same privately submitted identity.
Named public-record profiles may show identity and case information when a qualifying public source supports publication. Each case displays its source-backed procedural status.
What is private
Community reporters may submit the accused person’s name or identifying name, aliases, an approximate age or birth-year hint, a private distinguishing note, and an optional private source or evidence link. These private fields are encrypted before storage and are not displayed on the public community report.
A protected matching identifier is created from submitted identity information so repeat reports can be linked without publishing the underlying name.
Victim information
Do not submit a victim’s name, exact private address, phone number, government identification number, intimate image, medical information, school information that would identify a child, or other unnecessary identifying details. Public community reports use structured categories rather than free-form narratives to reduce accidental identification.
Security
Private identity information is encrypted before storage. Repeat-report matching uses a protected one-way identifier so matching can occur without displaying the underlying submitted name.
No security system is perfect. Reasonable safeguards are used to limit unauthorized access, disclosure and misuse of private submission data.
Accuracy, access and correction
Correction requests are handled through the submission page. If a named record is inaccurate, outdated or belongs to the wrong person, supporting documentation can be submitted for review.
Advertising and private submissions
Private identity fields submitted through community reports are not intended to be shared with advertising systems. Advertising, when present, is limited to informational areas of the site rather than detailed case profiles or community-report submissions.
